How do I obtain a DVD or VHS copy of a South Pacific Pictures production?

Broadcasters who play our programmes have been granted exclusive licenses by us or our distributors. The supply of individual episodes on tape is often a breach of the license, so our policy is unfortunately no, we are unable to be of assistance.

Are the Shortland Street studios available for public viewing?

Due to the fast-turn-around nature of Shortland Street we are not able to hold public tours or viewings of the studios. Shortland Street produces 5 x 1/2 hour episodes per week - equivalent to a feature film every week - and despite heavy public demand to view the sets, the hectic pace of the production prohibits this.

How do I get an acting part or become an extra in a South Pacific Pictures production?

For both main acting roles and extras, South Pacific Pictures use acting agencies, who put forward potential candidates. You must get yourself an acting agent if you are keen to work as an extra or an actor.

If I have industry experience, who do I send my CV to?

If you have industry experience, please send your CV to career@southpacificpictures.com. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Please note, South Pacific Pictures is currently unable to accept applications for internships/work experience or applications from non-New Zealand residents seeking work in New Zealand.

If you are an actor or an extra, please do not contact us directly in regards to casting. We would encourage you to discuss your career with your agent in the first instance.

How does my charity or community organisation contact Shortland Street or another South Pacific Pictures production?

Please note South Pacific Pictures publicity is inundated with requests for actor appearances, donations etc. It is vital we have all the relevant details. • Any other relevant information about your organisation, event and the nature of your request
