SBS Viceland to screen Shortland Street in Australia

AUCKLAND, NZ, 16th December 2020 – SBS VICELAND will be the new home of the long-running and hugely popular Kiwi TV soap, Shortland Street in Australia.
Premiering Monday, 11 January, 2021 and airing weeknights at 5:40pm AEDT, Australians will be treated to season 29, which will be fast-tracked from New Zealand. The final forty episodes of season 28 will drop on SBS On Demand on January 1, ahead of the season 29 premiere.
The release of the final forty episodes of 2020 and the premiere of season 29 on the 11th January means that Australian fans of the show will be as up to date with Shortland Street as audiences in New Zealand.
South Pacific Pictures’ CEO Kelly Martin says:
“We are thrilled to have SBS Viceland screening Shortland Street in Australia,” she says. “We’ve had a huge amount of feedback from fans in Australia who are eager to continue watching the show and we love how SBS have responded to that with their plan for rolling the show out day and date with NZ.”
